Find a Motel 6 or Studio 6 in Washington DC

Washington DC is one of the most dynamic and exciting cities in the United States and was purposefully built to be the nation’s capital. While politics often make most of the noise in D.C., there are still many excellent places to visit. Ride the Metro, one of the busiest public transportation systems in the country, to all four quadrants of D.C., suburban Virginia, and Maryland. It’s a popular, convenient, and affordable way to get around.

Museums … so many museums. Walk the halls of the 19 Smithsonian museums for FREE! Once you’ve finished experiencing the Smithsonian, there’s the Holocaust Museum, the National Museum of African American History, the International Spy Museum, the National Gallery of Art, the National Law Enforcement Museum, and many more.

A trip to the nation’s capital is not complete without visiting the White House. The grand building has been home to Presidents since the 18th-century, often finding itself at the center of major world events and the occasional controversy. Nearby is the National Mall, known as “America’s Front Yard.” The park has also been host to some of the most critical events in history, from Presidential Inaugurations to momentous occasions in the Civil Rights movements, such as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

If shopping is more your thing, there are tons of local shops and funky marketplaces. Find great gift ideas, cool home decor, or something special for your sweetheart or yourself at one of the many shops in and around the D.C. area. 14th Street houses some quirky storefronts and is one of the hottest places to see and be seen. Live out a fantasy and browse its one-of-a-kind boutiques and design stores in and around Georgetown or sift through the racks of some of the most highly regarded brands at CityCenterDC and Tysons Corner Center. Discoveries abound in Book Hill, located along Wisconsin Avenue at P Street; here, you’ll find antique shops, funky boutiques and specialty stores, and the largest concentration of art galleries in the city.

Time to eat? The nation’s capital has a host of successful fast-casual eateries. You’ll find some of the best pizza in the nation’s capital just around the corner from Union Market at Stellina Pizzeria. Looking for a late-night burger? It’s got to be Lucky Buns. But you can always expect delicious cheeseburgers, wings, and crabcakes to be on the menu at Clyde’s. Check out Union Market, which could call itself a national food tour thanks to 40-plus vendors with multi-course dinners and drinks from local breweries. Give in to your sweet tooth at District Doughnut, waiting for you with its freshly crafted gourmet doughnuts.
