History buffs should tour Dallas' Sixth Floor Museum, and Dealey Plaza. Families can enjoy a day at the Dallas World Aquarium, while art lovers should make time for the Dallas Museum of Art and Nasher Sculpture Garden. Located in the heart of North Oak Cliff, the Bishop Arts District is home to over 60 independent boutiques, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and art galleries, making it one of Dallas' most unique neighborhoods.

True, Dallas has plenty of towering skyscrapers and traffic-laden highways. But it's also rich in green space. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden occupy 66 acres in White Rock Lake Park, just northeast of downtown. If you do bring your youngsters, make your way to the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden, an 8-acre museum that houses 17 galleries filled with dynamic demonstrations, games, and teacher-led labs focused on environmental science.

It's easy to find a decent meal pretty much anywhere in Dallas, but certain neighborhoods have developed unique culinary identities. There are thousands of life-changing dishes to try in and around Dallas. For an excellent dinner that will literally change lives, make your way to Cafe Momentum, a non-profit restaurant that serves as a real-world crash course in the restaurant business for at-risk youth. Deep Ellum district is packed with concert venues, boutiques, bars, and of course, restaurants. Lower Greenville is also home to some of Dallas' finest eateries. Grab a cocktail or spend an afternoon hanging out al fresco at the Truck Yard while scarfing down cheesesteaks.

Discover Dallas's true heart and soul, from spectacular museums downtown, local artisan shops in the Bishop Arts District to the buzzing nightlife of live music at cool bars in Deep Ellum, Dallas has a place for everyone.
