How do I check rates and availability for a Motel 6 without making a reservation?

To check rates and availability, you follow the same process you do to make a reservation. You are not obligated to give your credit card and book a reservation, unless you choose to book a reservation during the process.

  1. Select the Reservations tab above.
  2. Select a destination by clicking in the state or filling in the requested text.
  3. Select the "Check Rates & Availability" button from either the property page or from the search results.
  4. Complete the requested information, including arrival/departure date, number of rooms, and number of adults.
  5. Click the "Show Available Rooms & Rates" button.
  6. Select the room type and rate you want to inquire about.
  7. If you do not want to book the selected location, simply move to the top of the screen and select "Reservations".

How do I cancel my reservation?

Enter your name and confirmation number or your name and credit card number in the appropriate field on the View / Cancel Reservations page. You can access the page by clicking here.

How do I modify my reservation?

At present, you cannot modify a reservation online. Please contact our National Reservation Center for assistance at (800) 466-8356.
For guests located outside the U.S./Canada call (614) 601-4060, fax (614) 601-4095, or e-mail us at online@motel6.com.

I made a reservation; however, I didn't receive a confirmation by e-mail. Why not?

Confirmation of your reservation is sent to the e-mail address that you have entered when filling out the reservation form. If your e-mail address is entered incorrectly or is no longer valid, our system cannot send you a written confirmation. This does not change the status of your reservation, however, it will prevent you from receiving a written confirmation to your e-mail address.

Is this a secure website?

Sensitive information, such as your credit card number, is encrypted using industry standard encryption. For more information on our web site security click here.

How long does it take for the Motel to receive my reservation?

The Motel should receive your reservation just a few minutes after the completion of your booking.

If I do not want to use my credit card online what are my options?

We are unable to process your reservation through the Internet without a valid and accepted credit card and expiration date. To make a reservation without using your credit card, please call our National Reservations Center at (800) 4-Motel-6 or (800) 466-8356. For International Guests, phone (614) 601-4060 or fax (614) 601-4095.

I think I booked a reservation; however, I can't locate it. How can I find it?

To see if you have a reservation booked in our system, please click here. If you still cannot locate your reservation or wish to speak with someone regarding your reservation, please contact Internet Support by clicking here.

I cannot remember which property I booked, how can I find out?

Where can I find descriptions of rooms, the room rate and the property's availability?

The rate appears next to the select rate button and the room description appears below the select rate button.

How do I select a room for my reservation?

  1. Select the Reservations tab above.
  2. Select destination by clicking in the state or filling in the requested text.
  3. Select the "Check Standard Rates" from from the search results or select the Motel 6 location.
  4. Complete the requested information, including arrival/departure date, number of rooms, and number of adults.
  5. Click the "Show Available Rooms & Rates" button.
  6. Select the room type and the rate you want to inquire about by clicking on the "Select" button to the right of the room.
  7. Select the "Proceed with Reservation" button at the bottom of the page.

Which credit cards can be used to guarantee a reservation?

A credit card number is required to confirm/guarantee your reservation. Motel 6 accepts American Express, Diner's Club, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Third party credit cards will not be accepted as payment.

Will there be any penalty or charge if I am unable to use my confirmed reservation?

All Motel 6 on-line reservations are guaranteed for late arrival. To avoid a penalty charge against the credit card you provided in the booking process, you must cancel your on-line reservation prior to 6:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. at some locations) on the arrival date and receive a cancellation number. (Cancel time is based on the local time of the motel reserved. The cancel time and date to cancel without penalty may vary by location on Special Events, Holidays and/or weekends.) For specific information, contact the Motel 6 location you reserved.

Does Motel 6 offer an AARP Member Discount Program?

AARP members can save 10% at all Motel 6 locations. When booking online simply click "AARP Member Rate" before selecting your room type and the discount will be automatically applied. The AARP Member discount may not be used in conjunction with any other promotional rates. The discount will be applied to a maximum of 2 rooms for 6 consecutive nights per stay when paid for by the AARP member. You will need to provide a valid AARP Membership Card during the check-in process to receive the discounted rate.

Why can't I modify my reservation online?

In order to improve our Internet booking service we have made several upgrades and changes to the reservation process. Although you cannot modify a reservation online, you can call our National Reservations Center for assistance at (800) 4-Motel-6 or (800) 466-8356.

Why can't I find a reservation online that I booked by calling the property or through the Motel 6 reservation 800 number?

The online reservation web site can only display reservations made online. If you need assistance with a reservation made directly through the property or with our Reservation Center you will need to either contact the property or the Reservation Center for assistance.

How can I contact Guest Relations regarding a previous stay?

Are rates different booking online? Are there any additional fees associated with booking online?

With the exception of our online Click 6 promotion, the rates available to you online are the same rates charged through the National Reservation Center and the Motel 6 property. There is no additional charge for booking online.

How do I book an accessible room?

Accessible rooms may be booked on this website. If you need a roll-in shower, be sure to book an accessible room with roll-in shower. If you do not see the accessible room type that you are looking for, please contact central reservations at 800-466-8356 to inquire about additional availability.
